Flexi-amendment - Part One
Starting June 1, 2025, you can say how much you "take" without risking any sanctions. On this day, the long-awaited flexi-amendment to the Labor Code comes into force, bringing major changes for both employees and employers.
More flexibility on parental leave, changes in notice periods, and more - see below.
↳ More flexibility for parents – employees on parental leave will be able to work based on an agreement on work activity (DPČ) or an agreement to complete a job (DPP) in the same job position as in their regular employment. Note: this does not apply during maternity leave.
↳ Safer return after parental leave – if an employee returns before the child reaches two years of age, the employer must ensure their return to the original workplace.
↳ Changes in the notice period – now it starts running on the day the notice is delivered, not from the first day of the following month.
↳ New options for time off work – for example, up to four days of paid leave to search for a new job when employment is terminated due to redundancy or restructuring.
↳ End of wage confidentiality – wage confidentiality clauses will be void, contributing to greater transparency.
These are fairly revolutionary changes designed to stimulate the labor market. We will see if it succeeds.
